Truecaller Launches Call Recording Feature For iOS and Android Devices
Truecaller has revealed that it will introduce an AI-based call recording function for its 350 million active users on iOS and Android devices. The feature will be launched in the US initially and will be gradually rolled out to other regions across the globe in the upcoming months.
According to the company, the new feature records both sides of the call very clearly and provides summary transcripts of all call recordings, turning the call recording into text that is easy to navigate.
Each transcript comes with a short subject line that facilitates quick and accurate searching of these transcripts using the Large Language Model (LLM) technology.
iPhone users can also keep backups of all their recordings in their iCloud storage so they don’t get lost. Android users can optionally back up recordings to Google Drive.
Truecaller call recording feature: Here’s how it works
For iPhone:
– For incoming calls, users can answer the incoming call, open the Truecaller app and go to the Search tab.
– Users must call the recording line through the Truecaller app to connect incoming and outgoing calls.
– Tap the ‘Record Call’ button.
– The other person on the call will hear a beep to indicate that the call is being recorded
For both incoming and outgoing calls, a push notification is sent after the call is finished when the recording is complete. On the iPhone, all recorded calls are stored directly on the device, ensuring complete control. In addition, users have the option to create a backup in iCloud, which provides an extra layer of protection.
For Android:
– Truecaller has a separate recording button to start or stop recording.
– Other number dialers have a “floating” button for users to start or stop recording.
– When the call ends, a push notification informs users of the availability of the recorded conversation, which can be easily organized and managed.
